Dear CCW Ladies,
We have a wonderful 2022-23 year ahead of us.
After 12 years of service, Marge Cankar has stepped down from our Board. We thank her so very much for her hard work. We welcome Chris Walsh as treasurer and Kim Oldham has moved to the recording secretary role.
Our 2021-22 year was fruitful while being fun. This includes our best ever Christmas raffle which will remain as our main fundraiser. Our Board participated in many Diocesan CCW events. Suzy sat on the JDCCW Board as co-chair of the Spirituality Commission.
We honored Patti Johnson as our Woman of the Year. Many of us attended the Recognition Mass at the Cathedral which honored these outstanding women of our Diocese.
During meetings, we raffled two quilts donated by Ceil Filipiak, with proceeds combined with 50/50 monies going to St. Dennis School. Lisa was given a $500 check for the Science & Technology program. Thank you to Sandy Readon who is donating a lovely afghan. Any additional items from you talented ladies would be appreciated for this year’s raffles.
Dues are due! Please send your $5.00 to St. Dennis Parish Attn: CCW or drop it in the collection basket in an envelope clearly marked CCW. Wouldn’t it be great if each one of us could bring in a new member? Invite your friends.
The generous hearts of our ladies allowed CCW to contribute to our Church, School and Community using our time, talent and resources. This included: paper products for the school and monetary donations, teacher welcome bags, 28 Boxes of Joy, Books/CD’s/DVD’s for Lockport Resource Center, socks for homeless shelter, Youth Group donation, Watts of Love, Nativity House, Father Jim’s retirement, staff Christmas gifts, Bread of Life, help with the 175th Anniversary celebration, Bishop Blanchette Scholarship, and our major project of replacing chairs in our Parish Center at a cost of over $5,000.
At our fun meetings, we learned “Fall Flower Container Gardening,” Women of the Old Testament, “Seeing Others Through Gods Eyes,” and our fabulous purse auction.
Save the Date:
Many Blessings,
Mary, Kim, Chris, Carol and
Suzy
