May Crowning

Here are some pictures of a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, both before and after the annual May Crowning ceremony celebrated at our parish.

When the five-minute bells ring before Mass, we sing “Hail Holy Queen” or another Marian hymn, as selected parishioners come forward in procession to place the crown on the top of this beautiful statue. The ceremony takes place by the pulpit.

May Crowning occurs before all the Masses on Mothers’ Day weekend. Different groups of parishioners will be participating in this beautiful ceremony throughout the entire weekend.
